Clean Norfolk are based, as you probably guessed, in Norfolk, with Ben originally being from Lincolnshire. One day, though, he woke up in the neighbouring county and decided it was time to head east. Passport checked, border control passed at King’s Lynn, Ben settled in the fine city of Norwich and set up this commercial window cleaning business.
Norfolk, as you probably know, is a vast county with rivers and broads at its heart. It doesn’t have a great road network – we think it may be one of the few counties in the UK without a motorway but it has its attractions. It’s a generally dry county, one with long sunny days from spring to autumn and though winter can be chilly, it rarely snows, ices over or rains.
It’s a fine base for Clean Norfolk and one that has high demand for commercial window cleaning.
Which is pleasing.
Norwich, Great Yarmouth, King’s Lynn has many business units where our window cleaning services are used, and we’re often frequent visitors to Cambridgeshire.
If you know Cambridge or its county at all, you’ll know it shares its pancake flat topography with Norfolk and Lincolnshire, as well as the history and architecture of the shire capitals of Lincoln and Norwich, and it has an expansive and burgeoning commercial sector. It might be a bit of a stretch to pair Cambridge with Silicon Valley in California, but they do share investment in technology and innovation and Clean Norfolk can often be spotted in the San Jose of East Anglia, or Cambridge. It does get called “Silicon Fen” tools companies like Astra-Zeneca have headquarters here.
There’s more reasons for this.
Cambridgeshire has invested heavily in business parks and one we work on is the Cambridge Business Park. This sits to the north east of the city centre, close to the A14 meaning it’s not too arduous a trek for the Clean Norfolk team. It has many prestigious tenants in its 12 units, including Qualcomm (or Silicon Radio) and the BBC.
The actual site is made up o total of 325,000 sq ft of office and R&D accommodation ranging from small suites of 2,000 sq ft up to a single building of over 50,000 sq ft. The buildings are no equivalent to the Shard, or Gherkin, but they sit well in the landscape and require specialist high level window cleaning from our expert team.
Close to Cambridge Business Park stands a more historic one – Cambridge Science Park, the oldest in the UK, founded in 1970 by Trinity and much expanded since. 7000 people work there, within 130 companies and it was supplemented just 4 years ago with the addition of the Bradfield Centre, with more new buildings for technology and start-up companies in the pipeline.
Working remotely was attractive for many employees, but, as the world returns to some semblance of normality, commuting has returned and, with it, demand for our specialist cleaning services.
